Apple has lived up to its minimalist and somewhat futuristic design style thanks to a new patent that proposes a iMac redesign, as we know. Despite the fact that the latest model presented in 2021 satisfied users with its proposal in vibrant colors and thin screen, from Cupertino they are already thinking about how it could evolve.
The patent registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, with the name “Electronic device with a glass-shell member”, presents the design of iMac with a continuous glass body.
As it is a single piece, in addition to the curved glass, Apple could include andl use of a wedge section that holds the glass, slotted to fit the curved section between the lower lip and the main top panel. Furthermore, this would house components, such as ports for network connections, peripherals, and power.

According to the images shared from Patentlyapple, the desktop computer would have an OLED screen, an integrated keyboard and touch input zones left and right as a dual touchpad construction.

In the pictures also owns ua more familiar keyboard surface for users, as the individual key regions may have a similar shape and feel to conventional moving keys. As a result, the user can type faster and with fewer errors because they can feel the edges and limits of each key region, without looking at the keyboard.

In the documentation, Apple clarifies that the glass case could be made of transparent materials, coated, painted or otherwise treated to produce a non-transparent component. Translucent materials, such as translucent polymers, translucent ceramics, or the like, can also be used.
Although Apple patents do not guarantee the launch of a device, and if it does, this is a process that usually takes years and involves many more patents, this iMac concept motivated several designers to present the first concepts related to the patent, such as we share in the previous images.
