During the panel Next Big Thing at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Comics revealed the arrival of a new project written by Jonathan Hickman and designed by the Italian Valerio Schiti for the 2023. We don’t know much about the mysterious production, other than that it is one comic series to which the creative duo – Schiti (Dungeons & Dragons And AX: Judgment Day, Empyre) and Hickman (X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic Four) – has been working for some time. Recall that for Hickman it is the first work related to the Marvel universe after the franchise X-Men. Valerio Schitiinstead, he is currently busy with the comic crossover designs AX: Judgment Daywhose writing is entrusted to Kieron Gillen.

The return of Jonathan Hickman to Marvel Comics
During the panel, Jonathan Hickman revealed that the project, still without an official title, will be a sort of “Marvel Universe Sandman“, And revealed that he worked on this series for three yearsaround the same time he started producing the X-Men material for House of X And Powers of X.
Below you can read the words of Jonathan Hickman on the upcoming comic series for Marvel Comics, reported by comicbook.com:
It’s probably too early to talk about my next project, especially it’s early to do it in a satisfactory way. It definitely won’t be tied to the X-Men. In fact, unless I decide to go back to the office to do something later, I will intentionally avoid doing ‘mutant things’.
The promotional image published by Marvel to present the new series carries the phrase “what happens when the established powers meet the natural order of things?“. At the moment it is not known what these words refer to, but it seems that our doubts will be answered with the debut of the first issue of the comics.
