Cult of the Lamb, the long-awaited roguelike developed by Massive Monster and produced by Devolver Digital, is shown with a gameplay video that includes the first thirteen minutes of the campaign. The video was released by IGN on its official channel and shows the initial stages of this interesting title.
In Cult of the Lamb we will take on the role of a possessed lamb. After saving our lives, an unknown demon will force us to create a real cult in honor of him. Between false prophets and various obstacles, we will have to make our way in various regions to be able to create our sect and make it thrive in the woods. An important part of our path will be the collection of adepts and followers for our cult, which will be fundamental to make it thrive and spread.
To complement this system we find a very particular and captivating graphic style, which will not fail to conquer fans of comic representations. Cult of the Lamb, in fact, it uses a graphic sector that recalls the various ones The Binding of Isaac, while exploiting dynamics that seem quite different from McMillen’s title. In a procedurally generated world, in fact, we will have to defeat hordes of enemies until we reach different bosses. Each defeated boss will lead us to strengthen our position. Furthermore, we will be able to build buildings and structures capable of attracting additional followers and protecting them from external dangers.
Cult of the Lamb will launch tomorrow, August 11, 2022, on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X | S, PC and Nintendo Switch. This is definitely a fertile time for roguelikes, with titles like Hades that have been able to attract a good slice of the public and are establishing themselves on the market in a difficult time for the big productions of AAA games that try to adapt. It is shortly to find out if this title will join the list of hits, however, it seems that the premises are pretty good.
