Over the last few years we have witnessed the phenomenon of review bombing. It has happened to great titles acclaimed by many fans such as The Last of Us Part 2, demonstrating that no game is safe when a large and very noisy group of players decides to get in the way. Lately it’s happening to Digimon Survive, the new iteration of the franchise that will lead us to interact again with digital creatures from the fantastic world of the Digital World.
After a series of postponements, the very recent Digimon Survive made its debut just a few days ago. Although historical fans of the franchise are enjoying the new adventure released by Bandai Namco, there is a large group of players who have literally targeted the game by storming it with negative reviews on Metacritic. Once again, therefore, it is the well-known aggregator site that is the place of discord, but let’s see in detail what is happening.
The main reason for all these negative opinions is due to the totally wrong expectations of many players, who are brutally criticizing the excessive presence of visual novel moments. There are also those who complain of the few moments in which there is a fight and the lack of Digimon, considering too few digital creatures that can be collected and encountered during this new adventure.

As you can also see for yourself by taking a ride on Metacritic, the PS4 version of Digimon Survive currently has a user score of 3.4, with 40 negative reviews against 22 positive. The Nintendo Switch version is a bit better, with a user score that settles at 4.3, but the Xbox One version is doing the worst since his user score is 1.8. In all this there are many fans who are praising the title which may not be one of the masterpieces of the year, but a more than discreet game for those who love the franchise born in the late 90s.
