
According to a report on Monday, an elderly Asian woman was brutally beaten up by four attackers in broad daylight in San Francisco.
According to ABC 7, Mrs Ren, who was identified only by her last name at the request of her daughter Mrs Zheng, had spent the past two years inside to escape the coronavirus.
When she went out on Sunday evening, Mrs Ren was reportedly approached by four teenagers who asked her for time. Mrs Ren, who does not speak English, showed her watch to the attackers and reportedly said “five o’clock”. That’s when the attack started, he said. According to ABC 7, she said through a translator, “They search my body and I quickly realize they are no good.” The suspects spotted Mrs. Ren’s iPhone 7 and immediately followed her into the elevator after refusing to hand it over. On the device, as per the report.
According to ABC 7, “They got really mad and dragged me down,” she told. Graphic video footage shows him being kicked in the face.
“He used his fist on my head several times and then he pulled me down and kept kicking me,” she reportedly continued. According to the outlet, the woman then tried to take shelter in a hallway, but was unable to close the door, forcing the attackers to return and continue their assault.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
