Codemasters and Electronic Arts announced today that theAutódromo Internacional do Algarve, better known as Portimão, will be added on August 2nd in the F1 22 game via a free update for all players. Title holders will be able to relive the historic track through video footage, and this will be just a first addition as the next circuit to arrive will be the Shanghai International Circuit on 12 September.

Portimão is returned to the Formula 1 calendar from the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes dominated both years, taking the win, with then teammate Valtteri Bottas taking second and third places respectively. The 4,684km undulating circuit is famous for its steep descent before a final right turn to be tackled at full throttle to the finish.

It is a circuit with a prestigious history and our players will love the challenge of bringing the cars designed for 2022 to the sacred circuit for the first time ”.
The Portimão circuit will be added tomorrow August 2nd and will be available free to all owners of a copy of F1 2022. Codemasters and Electronic Arts plan to add more circuits in the future, and the next update will take us to race on the Shanghai circuit.
