For some time, rumors emerge on the network centered on the closure of Google Stadia. The Mountain View service, let’s face it, isn’t exactly in great shape. Born to offer an alternative to the classic system for the distribution of video games, to date the project has been decidedly resized, also thanks to the step back related to the production of first party games. Although there are excellent reasons to unplug the service, Alphabet continues to not want to do so and consequently continues to deny all the rumors that emerge about it, as done in the last few hours.
As reported by PC Gamer, in fact, in the first days of this week a rumor wanted the service to be closed. Re-launched by the Killed by Google account, which reviews all projects launched by Mountain View and subsequently closed after a very short time, according to the rumor of corridodio Google Stadia should have closed its doors due to the elements that we anticipated in the opening of the news. All false though: Big G thought directly to deny this rumor, branding it as a real fake news.
The denial came from the service’s official Twitter account, in response to a user asking for a comment on this rumor. ”Stadia is here to stay. We assure you that we are working to bring more and more games to the platform and for all Stadia Pro subscribers. Please let us know if you have any other questions ”, the words written on Twitter. In short, a statement of circumstances, which denies (at least for now) a possible closure of the service.
Stadia is not shutting down. Rest assured we’re always working on bringing more great games to the platform and Stadia Pro. Let us know if you have other questions.

What form will take (and especially when) the Google service is not given to us to know. Already downsized compared to the past, to date we cannot know how it will be further transformed over the years by Alphabet. We just have to wait and be, as always, passive spectators behind big business decisions. Keep following Tom’s Hardware for all the news and announcements in the pipeline from the world of video games.
