
If you’ve ever needed to scan a document on the go, you might have found yourself searching through the App Store for a good app. Not many people know that there is actually a scanning function built into your iPhone. Here’s how to scan documents in the Notes app.
You can use the Notes app to scan documents on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. You can also sign documents and share notes with others once you’re done, which is incredibly useful for signing digital contracts when you don’t have your PC on hand.

You can find the icon in the lower right corner of the Notes app.

It can be found at the bottom half of the screen above the keyboard.

3Select scan document
This will take you to the camera’s view.

4Hover the camera over your document (or anything you want to scan)
If you have the Auto setting turned on, the camera will automatically detect and scan your document. If you don’t, tap the word manual in the upper right corner to turn on Auto.

Your document will now be embedded in your Notes page.
Troubleshooting
How do you turn on auto setting?
When you’re in camera view, you can toggle between automatic and manual scanning by tapping the word in the upper right corner. From there, you can adjust the size and shape of your document by dragging the corners captured in the scan.
How do you sign a document?
If you want to sign the document you just scanned, just click on the share icon and tap on the markup icon. Then to add a saved signature or create a new one simply tap Add and then Signature.
