Motorola has taken to the Chinese social media platform, Weibo (opens in new tab)To announce the official launch date of the next Razer foldable, Motorola Razr 3, which we will see launch on August 2.
This is a ‘dual flagship’ launch event where the company will also launch the Moto X30 Pro, which is eagerly awaited and expected to be the world’s first phone with a 200MP camera. The timing of the launch is important as it means that Motorola’s new foldable will launch before Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 – which will be launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 4 (opens in new tab) on August 10 (opens in new tab). Confirmed to be.

market case
So, Motorola’s new Razr 3 foldable will take the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 by eight days, but there is a huge market discrepancy between manufacturers, which will definitely impact sales. From the Weibo post, we can realistically assume that, at least, the Razr 3 will be a China-exclusive one, while the South Korean tech giant is expected to launch in markets across the globe.
It’s certainly something that will soften the blow for Samsung beating Motorola to launch, giving the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 a spot among the best camera phones on the market (opens in new tab) Will compete to get it.
Motorola Razr 3: Specifications
The third-gen Motorola Razr is expected to have the right flagship specifications this time around and give Samsung a run for its money. A generally very reliable leaker, Evan Blass, has teamed up with 91Mobiles (opens in new tab) to provide alleged images of the new foldable, which shows a complete redesign – without the thick chin, curved edges and far more like the Galaxy Boxer. Blass also provides camera intel for the Razr 3, which is said to come in Quartz Black and Tranquil Blue colorways, with a combination of 13MP wide-angle and macro expected to be a 50MP f/1.8 primary shooter. There is a 32MP punch hole inside the selfie camera. It also looks to convert the fingerprint sensor into a power button, which is good news as well.
The biggest move for the Razr 3 is generally to move towards the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The new foldable smartphone is also expected to sport a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED main display and a 3-inch cover display. It’s not too late to wait to find out either!
