
Xiaomi announced a new smartphone from its Redmi brand, the Xiaomi Redmi K50i. It is an Android smartphone that is initially destined for India and has some interesting features for the price range such as 144Hz refreshment, triple camera and fast charging.
Redmi K50i: Details and specifications
The Redmi K50i has a 6.6-inch LCD screen with FHD + resolution. The 144Hz refresh rate is dynamic, adapting based on what is displayed on screen to optimize your battery. This screen also got an A+ score on DisplayMate according to the manufacturer, and supports Dolby Vision.
Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip, the Redmi K50i features up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
As for cameras, a triple camera is located on the back, with a 64MP main sensor seconded by an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera, adding a 16MP selfie camera that appears through a hole in the screen.
The fingerprint reader of the Redmi K50i is located on the side that, despite having a 5080 mAh battery, retains its relatively slim profile. This battery can be charged to 50% in just 15 minutes, and to 100% in 46 minutes thanks to a 67W charging power, whose Xiaomi charger includes with the phone.
The Redmi K50i also adds stereo speakers, IP53-certified splash resistance, and runs Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top.
Availability and price of the Xiaomi Redmi K50i
The Redmi K50i comes in blue, black, and silver colors for a price starting from around $325 in India for the 6GB/128GB variant. The 8GB/256GB version goes for $360.
