The Galaxy S22 added a new color to its lineup with Bora Purple. Bora is the Korean equivalent to purple, whereupon the new color could be translated as “purple purple”. Marketing inconsistencies aside, the new color goes on sale starting August 10 at the same price as the original Galaxy S22.
This new Bora Purple color sits alongside bold Violet in the Galaxy S22 color range, continuing the tradition of Samsung to launch a special color for its Galaxy S flagships.
Samsung also confirms that this new color will be available on more devices this year. The Galaxy S22 Bora Purple arrives on the market on August 10, the exact same day that Samsung will hold its Unpacked event to introduce new smartphones, suggesting that this new color could be part of that presentation.
Unlike other occasions – for example, the purple color was only available online to buy directly from Samsung – the Bora Purple Galaxy S22 will be available through resellers, in addition to the manufacturer’s store.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 is the smartphone that gives the series its name. The Galaxy S22 comes with a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz variable refresh rate. With processor options according to the region, the Galaxy S22 arrives with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or an Exynos 2200, accompanied by 8GB of RAM with up to 256GB of internal storage. The rear camera array features a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3x zoom, while the front camera is 10MP. A fast-charging 3,700 mAh battery powers the Galaxy S22, which completes its features with stereo speakers, an under-display fingerprint reader, IP68 certification, and runs One UI 4.1 based on Android 12.
