Stray from Annapurna Interactive has conquered everyone in the last week and a half. However, many have already finished the relatively short game, looking for ways to improve it further. Most of these improvements take the form of mods that immediately depopulated the title community for their creativity that has gone as far as hybrid with GTA. The latest of these creations allows you to play in local multiplayer.
The author of the mod is KangieDanie, who made it available to all PC players on NexusMod. However, it is the modder himself who points out that the work has some issues to solve before reaching perfection. Once you have downloaded and applied the mod for Stray, all you have to do to add another player and another cat is to press F9. One of the problems, which is strongly discouraged by modders, is the possibility of adding multiple felines by pressing the same button repeatedly. The mod is not programmed for this and could cause several bugs.
You can see the mod in action in the video below. Both cats are identical, but that can potentially be changed by applying one of the other mods that people have already created for Stray. Even this, however, could be an action not recommended as adding multiple mods could make the title unstable. However, in the video you can admire the split screen that separates the two kittens making them distinguishable from each other.
Finally, KangieDanie has denied the hypothesis of a future patch that also allows you to play online with other players. However, the developers added that they know someone who is working on an online multiplayer mod for Stray. These are rather vague claims, but no doubt many players would love the chance to meet other people online to share their games with. Since the Annapurna title has set several records for bookings and players on Steam, it will certainly not be difficult to find company.
