During EVO 2022the largest tournament in the world dedicated to fighting games, Bandai Namco has decided to formalize Tekken 8. The announcement came with a teaser trailer, broadcast during the Italian night and which recalled a historical moment of the series, without revealing further details including plot and target platforms.
In the video (which you can find a little further down) used to announce the new chapter of the franchise (which actually still has no official name), Kazuya can be seen carrying Heihachi on the edge of a cliff, then throwing him into the water. Subsequently, the shot shifts to Kazuya’s face, who at that point takes on a “next gen” guise. The teaser closes with the phrase “Get Ready”, without further information on the matter. A decidedly mysterious trailer, which feeds doubts about the type of game currently in development: is it really Tekken 8 or are we facing a reboot of the first episode? Questions that obviously cannot be answered today
In addition to the new chapter of the series, Bandai Namco has also decided to unveil a new update for Tekken 7. The update will be available starting August 17, 2022 and will include a number of game balance improvements and new tactics. Also announced the final stage of the World Tour, the competitive circuit of the game, which will be held in Amesterdam between 4 and 5 February 2023. News on the new game in the series could arrive during the Dutch appointment or on the occasion of the Tokyo Game Show 2022, which will take place from 15 to 18 September this year. Without official information, however, at the moment we can only formulate hypotheses.
That’s it for now: there is currently no further information on Tekken 8 and it is therefore necessary to wait a little longer before being able to discover all the news on the next chapter of the series.
