At San Diego Comic-Con 2022 we return to talk about de The Rings of Powerthis time with the eye pointed at the difference between Harfoots and Hobbit. Based on JRR Tolkien’s fantasy book series of the same name, the Prime Video differs greatly from the story told in the trilogies of The Lord of the Rings And The Hobbit. The story, arriving on the streaming platform on September 2, 2022is set thousands of years before Frodo and Sam set out on their journey to Mordor and tells the facts about the Second Era of Middle-earth, without neglecting flashbacks of an even more distant period: the Before It Was.

The difference between Harfoots and Hobbit
In addition to a number of new characters and younger versions of those we have already known thanks to The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power presents different ethnicities, all belonging to Middle-earth. Between these, the Harfootancestors of the Hobbits: Sadoc Burrows (Lenny Henry) e Marigold Brandyfoot (Sara Zwangobani), among others.
The Harfoots in The Rings of Power
During the panel dedicated to the series it emerged how different the Harfoots are from Frodo, Sam and the other Hobbits seen in the Peter Jackson trilogy for a couple of reasons in particular. Unlike the Hobbits, the Harfoot are more migratory and follow a more lifestyle nomadic. Not only: they prefer to hide in the face of the darker elements that Middle-earth conceals within itself. This is not to say that the Harfoots don’t share similarities with the Hobbits. Indeed, like the latter, they are in love with music, dance and light humor.
By the way, as screenrant.com recalls, in reality the Harfoots do not belong to a different race from that of the Hobbits. In fact, in Tolkien’s fantasy novels we learn that the group is part of a subset that already existsthat of the Hobbit family, divided into three main lineages: Harfoots, Stoors and Fallohides.
We remember that The Lord of the Rings: The rings of power will debut on Prime Video on September 2nd. Before concluding, we point out that on Amazon you can buy the film trilogies of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
