The OnePlus 10T is a few days away from being announced by one plus. Although it is a “T” version, that is, an iterative upgrade over its predecessor, the OnePlus 10T will mark a milestone for the company, since it will be the first OnePlus smartphone without an alert slider that has existed in its flagships for almost one of each.
Since the OnePlus One, OnePlus included a slider on the side of its phones to switch between silent, sound and vibration modes, similar to the switch that the iPhone has to be silent.
This slider has been present in all OnePlus flagships, except for some cheap smartphones that the company launched in recent years under the Nord series.
The company explained why about the decision to remove the slider, along with revealing the design of the OnePlus 10T. Hope LiuOnePlus’s chief designer, explained that the alert slider was removed because the place it occupied was necessary for other components.

In particular, the slider occupies around 30mm² on the motherboard, having a “relatively large impact” on the build of the computer. One solution would have been to keep it by overlapping the motherboard, but this would have meant a thicker OnePlus 10T.
However, the reason for removing the slider may be much more critical than what the company makes known. The durability test carried out on the OnePlus 10 Pro at the time of its launch revealed that the smartphone breaks in two when bent with force, a test that most phones resist since the famous bless you that the iPhone suffered firsthand.
