A couple of weeks ago, we reported the result of an alleged benchmark carried out on a next one GeForce RTX 4090video card belonging to the line-up “Ada Lovelace” from NVIDIAwhich showed a substantial leap forward, in terms of performance, compared to the current top of the range “Ampere“, Namely the RTX 3090 Ti. In particular, we talked about the benchmark Time Spy Extreme from 3DMarkwhere the card had gotten over 19,000 points66% more than the RTX 3090 Ti and 82% more than the RTX 3090.
Apparently, as reported by the well-known leaker @ kopite7kimithe same test was also carried out on the models RTX 4080 And RTX 4070where they were registered scores above 15,000 and approximately 10,000, respectively. This means that the RTX 4080 should be a bit more powerful than the RTX 3090 Ti, while if we compare it to the RTX 3080 10GB the gap is 40-50%.
If the RTX 4080 is offered at a similar price point to the “old” RTX 3080 10GB, gamers will be able to benefit from a significant performance improvement at the same price. Although less impressive, the 10,000 points obtained by an RTX 4070 put it on the same level as a RTX 3080 10GB, with about 25% more performance than the current RTX 3070.
RTX 4080, TSE> 15000,
RTX 4070, TSE ~ 10000.
These scores are based on specs I mentioned before.
Honestly, it’s not quite sure yet except RTX 4090. Well, I don’t care.– kopite7kimi (@ kopite7kimi) July 29, 2022
Obviously, the data coming from a single benchmark is not decisive to establish how much the card is really more performing compared to current models, especially taking into account other technologies, such as the effects of Ray Tracing in real time. Furthermore, given that there are still a few months left until the debut of the next NVIDIA range on the market, it is likely that the drivers used for this test are not yet fully optimized.
Pending the arrival of the new RTX 40 range, NVIDIA has lowered the price of some RTX 30 models, especially the high-end models. Find more information about it in our previous dedicated news.
