Mirroring an iPhone screen to a TV is one of those features that tells you that technology has really come so far. Gone are the days when you needed bundles of knotted cables to display your phone on the big screen. Now, with just a few taps, iPhones can share their screens with TVs and other displays.
Screen Mirroring can be used to stream photos or videos from your phone to Smart TV. Wireless streaming is especially helpful with live stream video on social media that typically can’t be accessed on a television screen. What is the difference between Screen Mirroring and Screen Casting?
Sometimes users can get confused about the difference between Screen Mirroring and Screen Casting as they are very similar.
Screen mirroring is used to show the exact movement of your iPhone or other device’s screen on a larger display such as a TV in the same room. Destination Display exactly duplicates your device.
Screen casting – another feature commonly present with screen mirroring in phones, tablets and others – refers to casting a video from your device to the display and continuing to use the device without interrupting the video. For example, you can cast a video from your phone to the TV, while you can use your phone to message someone back. Sending a message will not affect the video playing on the TV.
Screen casting does not imitate the exact screen of the phone or the movements on the TV. So, once you put a video; You can’t watch it playing on your phone while it’s on TV.
